Turquoise is a phosphate of copper and aluminum containing some water and it fills fissures and cavities where rock have weathered in the proximity of copper deposits. Some stones are veined with black limonite which is called turquoise matrix. Persian turquoise is found in the middle east and is known for the deeper blue coloration with black veining.
