Undermount sinks are typically found in higher end kitchens because they only work with solid countertop materials such as natural stone, solid surface, and quartz composites. Drop in sinks are most common and will work with any type of countertop, they only require a template hole to be cut into the countertop then the sink sits in that hole, with the rim of the sink supporting its weight.
